Shares of CoreWeave CRWV climbed 8.77% to $93.28 in morning trading on Tuesday after the AI cloud infrastructure company announced its expansion into Indonesia and received a bullish analyst initiation that reinforced optimism around its long-term growth prospects.

The move marked CoreWeave’s first data center presence in the Asia-Pacific region.

The company said it will add three facilities in Indonesia with a combined 360 megawatts of contracted IT power, expanding its global infrastructure footprint to serve growing AI demand across Southeast Asia.

The stock also benefited from a new analyst initiation by Piper Sandler, which began coverage with an Overweight rating and a $151 price target.

CoreWeave currently carries a broader Buy consensus on Wall Street, with an average price target of around $140.

Indonesia expansion marks Asia-Pacific debut

CoreWeave said it will own and operate all three planned data centers in Indonesia while building a local workforce to support the facilities.

The expansion is aimed at AI labs, startups and enterprise customers that require AI computing capacity located closer to their data and users.

“Across Asia, enterprises, AI-native companies, and governments increasingly need AI compute located close to their data and users, driven by both latency-sensitive workloads and data locality requirements. CoreWeave’s move… reflects this shift,” the company said.

The new facilities will expand CoreWeave’s global network, which consisted of 49 data centers worldwide as of March.

The company has benefited from increasing demand for AI cloud infrastructure as technology companies continue investing in the computing resources needed to train and deploy artificial intelligence models.

Wall Street remains bullish ahead of earnings

The Indonesia announcement came as analysts continued to express confidence in CoreWeave’s growth trajectory.

Piper Sandler initiated coverage with an Overweight rating and a $151 price target, naming the company one of its top picks in AI infrastructure.

The latest endorsement follows a previous upgrade from Truist, which raised its rating to Buy after a sharp pullback in the stock, citing strong demand for AI computing infrastructure, CoreWeave’s specialized cloud platform, and what it viewed as an attractive valuation relative to other cloud infrastructure providers.

Investors are also looking ahead to the company’s second-quarter 2026 earnings report, scheduled for Aug. 11. Analysts expect CoreWeave to report revenue of approximately $2.56 billion, up from $1.21 billion a year earlier.

AI infrastructure investments continue

CoreWeave has continued expanding its infrastructure as demand for AI cloud services accelerates.

In May, the company raised the lower end of its 2026 capital expenditure forecast, citing higher component prices amid a shortage of memory chips.

CoreWeave now expects capital spending of between $31 billion and $35 billion this year.

The company has also secured several multi-billion-dollar agreements in 2026, including an expanded $21 billion cloud deal with Meta and a multi-year agreement with Anthropic.

Tuesday’s gains also extended momentum from the previous trading session, when CoreWeave shares rallied after Microsoft, Amazon, Apple and Meta reported quarterly results that highlighted continued strength in cloud computing, artificial intelligence and related services.

Those earnings reinforced investor expectations that demand for GPU-powered AI infrastructure will remain strong, supporting companies such as CoreWeave that provide cloud computing capacity for AI workloads.
