The DAX Index jumped to a record high of €82,883 as several important German companies like BMW, Deutsche Bank, Mercedes-Benz, and BASF published mixed financial results and as investors rotated to non-AI firms.

It has jumped by nearly 20% from its lowest level this year as focus now shifts to some key companies like Bayer, Siemens Energy, Siemens, Rheinmetall, Commerzbank, Allianz, Munich Re, and Daimler Truck.

Commerzbank to publish earnings amid Unicredit buyout rumors

Commerzbank stock has moved sideways in the past few months. It was trading at €37.8 on Friday, up by nearly 30% from its lowest level this year.

The stock will be in the spotlight next week as it releases its financial results. Its numbers are expected to show that its business continued thriving in the second quarter.

In a statement this week, Deutsche Bank, its top competitor, noted that its profit jumped bby 10% last quarter to €1.9 billion. This was its best quarter ever, with its diluted earnings per share rising by nearly 20% to €0.57.

Commerzbank stock will also react to any progress made by Unicredit, the giant Italian bank that aims to acquire it. According to Reuters, Commerzbank’s CEO, Bettina Orlopp, has told employees that the company will continue its talks with Unicredit of a potential tie-up. This is a major development as Orlopp and her management has always been opposed to a tie-up.

Rheinmetall to publish its earnings as the stock rebounds

Rheinmetall is another top DAX Index company to watch next week as it releases its financial results. These numbers come as the stock attempts to bounce back after falling to €901. It has now rebounded by nearly 30% from its lowest level this year.

Rheinmetall has become one of the top beneficiaries of the ongoing defense spending in Europe. Recently, however, the stock plunged by double digits in a single day after Germany canceled the F126 frigate order. As a result, Morningstar analysts lowered the company’s naval revenue segment estimates for 2030 from €5 billion to €3 billion.

Rheinmetall shares have jumped as the management assured investors that its business will do well. In a statement this week, the company said that it had been selected to modernize the 143-meter-long frigate BAYERN to ensure operational readiness.

The company will report its half-year results next week. While these numbers are important, the company has already provided hints on what to expect. In a statement this week, management said that its core profit jumped to 562 million euros in the second quarter as its revenue rose to €3.3 billion.

Other top DAX Index shares to watch

Siemens Energy stock has lost momentum in the past few months, moving from the year-to-date high of €191 to the current €151. This retreat happened as some of the top beneficiaries of the AI boom pulled back.

Siemens Energy has become a top beneficiary of the boom because of the rising demand for power. The most recent numbers showed that its order books jumped to over €17.7 billion, driven by gas services and grid technologies. Its profit jumped to over €1.16 billion.

Allianz is another top stock to watch as it trades at its all-time high of €436. It has jumped by over 28% from its lowest level this year, with its market capitalization rising to over €165 billion. The estimate is that its operating profit jumped to €4.6 billion.

The other top DAX Index companies releasing their results next week are Munich Re, Daimler Truck, Deutsche Post, and Merck.
